Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Snap Loans Cash. It explains what our service is, what it is not, and the Texas and Corpus Christi rules that apply to payday loans.
We are a connection service, not a lender
Snap Loans Cash does not lend money, make credit decisions, or charge you any fee. We are a loan-connection service that may match your request with third-party lenders and credit access businesses licensed to operate in Texas. Any loan you receive comes from an independent lender, on that lender’s terms, which you should read in full before you accept.
Texas payday loan rules
Payday loans in Texas are arranged through a credit access business (CAB) under the Texas Finance Code (Ch. 393 and Ch. 342). Under Texas law:
- A CAB arranges the loan from a third-party lender and charges its own separate fee on top of the lender’s interest.
- Texas sets no statewide cap on the CAB fee or the APR.
- There is no statewide dollar limit on the loan amount.
- Terms typically run from about 7 to 180 days.
- CABs must be licensed by the OCCC, post a fee schedule, and give you written disclosures before you sign.
Cost example
A $500 payday loan for about two weeks commonly costs $110–$125 in combined lender interest and CAB fee — an effective APR of roughly 560%–660%. These are typical market figures, not a legal maximum: because Texas does not cap the cost, your actual cost depends entirely on the CAB and lender. Payday loans are short-term, very high-cost credit and are not intended for long-term needs. Please consider lower-cost alternatives first.
What the City of Corpus Christi limits
Chapter 5, Article I of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances — the Credit Access Businesses ordinance adopted August 11, 2015 (Ord. No. 030571) — adds borrower protections on top of Texas law:
- The cash advanced on a payday loan may not exceed 20% of your gross monthly income (§ 5-11(a)), established from a paycheck or other income documentation.
- An auto-title loan may not exceed the lesser of 3% of your gross annual income or 70% of the vehicle’s retail value (§ 5-11(b)).
- An instalment loan may run no more than four instalments, each retiring at least 25% of the principal, and may not be refinanced or renewed (§ 5-11(d)).
- A single-payment loan may be renewed no more than three times, each renewal retiring at least 25% of the original principal (§ 5-11(e)).
- A new loan taken within seven days of paying one off counts as a renewal (§ 5-11(f)).
- The agreement must be written in your preferred language (§ 5-12), and the business must give you a referral to nonprofit financial education and cash-assistance agencies (§ 5-13).
- Credit access businesses must hold a City certificate of registration for each location (§ 5-5) and keep detailed records of every loan (§ 5-10).
These are city limits on the loan amount and rollovers; the City does not cap the CAB fee itself. Confirm the exact terms with your lender before you sign.
Military borrowers
Corpus Christi is home to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Under the federal Military Lending Act, most consumer credit to active-duty service members and their dependents is capped at a 36% Military APR inclusive of fees. A typical Texas payday loan runs far above that ceiling and may not be offered to a covered borrower on those terms.
Regulator and complaints
Texas credit access businesses are licensed and regulated by the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner (OCCC). Rules on this page were verified on September 5, 2026 and may change; always confirm current terms with your lender and the regulator.
